6 tips for keeping your home clean during the coronavirus pandemic

facemasks Budget Maids As the coronavirus continues to wreak chaos, keeping our living spaces clean and hygienic is more important than ever.

Cleaning isn’t something most of us relish (and hey, if you want cost-effective, professional services we art Budget Maids always happy to help), but tidying up on a regular basis will stop jobs stockpiling and help keep you and your loved ones safe.

Start with the bedrooms

Every life coach out there advocates making your bed as soon as you get up. Walking into a room where the bed hasn’t been made is jarring and it’ll be the first thing the eye sees. Wash the bedding once a week and launder the duvet and pillows every six months. If you suffer from allergies or you have pets that sleep on the bed, change your pillows every six months to minimize reactions.

Go to bed on a tidy home

If you clean up quickly before hitting the sack, you’ll wake up to a neat home, which can help energize you in the mornings. Your pre-bed clean up need not take any longer than 15 minutes. Put things away and ensure the kitchen is free of grease and dirt before you retire.

Make laundry day a routine

To conserve energy and water, use your washing machine when you can fill it to capacity. Remember, face masks and coverings must be washed at a high temperature after every use.

Keep your cleaning supplies in the places where they are used

A cupboard under the stairs or in the kitchen is the usual place, though make sure small children and/or your pets cannot access it. But if you keep bleach in the bathroom and antibacterial sprays in the kitchen, you’ll be promoted to use them when needed.

Watch for the high traffic areas

Doorknobs, taps and counter tops in the kitchen are more touched than most of the areas in the home, so clean them daily to keep them free of dirt, dust and germs.
