Super Bowl LV Viewing Party: A Guide to Setting Up and Cleaning Up

by Matt Jensen - February 8, 2021

It’s that time of the year again. Super Bowl LV is almost here, bringing with it viewing parties and a whole lot of fun. However, this year’s parties need to be handled differently thanks to coronavirus-related rules and guidelines. But there’s no reason you can’t enjoy yourself while behaving responsibly.

We’ve put together some tips to help you prepare for a great viewing party and clean up afterwards:

1. Distancing is Important

This year is different and you need to prepare accordingly. In other words, the party can’t be in your living room. Set up your television or projector screen in the yard or on the patio, so people can get together and enjoy the game safely.

Another reason to set up the party outdoors: there’ll be less cleanup required inside the house when the party’s over.

2. But Food is Important Too

It’s no secret that people look forward to the food as much as the game itself. This year, instead of serving huge servings that people need to huddle to eat, try serving smaller, individual servings.

Bite size foods, small sandwiches, sliders, mini hot dogs… you get the idea. You can also fire up the grill and get an old-fashioned BBQ going!

3. Game On!

Once the game starts, be sure not to get so engrossed in it that you forget your duties. You’ll need to keep an eye on the food and beverages throughout and keep your guests comfortable. 0000, which is why you should stock up on blankets and throws so people can help themselves to comfort and warmth whenever they need.

4. Dealing with the Cleanup

Contrary to popular opinion, the cleaning up actually begins with the party, not afterwards. Set up trash cans in easily accessible places, encourage your guests to use them, and have separate bins for empty bottles so you can recycle them easily.

Once the guests are gone, you can pack up any untouched leftovers and store them away in your fridge or freezer for later use. Deal with any trash that didn’t find its way into a bin and give the site of the party a thorough sweep.

You may not particularly enjoy cleaning up, but remember that it comes with the job description of a host. If you’re having too much trouble with it, or just don’t feel up to it, a wise move is to seek the help of a professional cleaning company.
