Maid Service Rockville says happy thanksgiving

Maid Service Rockville asks–is it your turn to host the Thanksgiving dinner this year? And are you ready for it?

If it’s your first time hosting what is arguably the biggest family event in the American year, the thought of that dinner and all those guests can be daunting. But it doesn’t need to be. We have some ideas for dishes to make, cleaning prep you can do and how to tackle any pesky stains that happen.

First of all the food. Maid Service Rockville suggests you accept all offers of help. Your guests will probably ask, is there anything you’d like me to bring. And the answer is ‘yes’. There’s no need for kitchen and cooking martyrdom. Perhaps your mom is known for her legendary honey-glazed ham or pumpkin pie. Tell her to bring it.

Simple sides

Secondly, the kitchn website has three super simple sides everyone can master—mashed potatoes, stuffing and a cranberry sauce you make from scratch. They are straightforward and delicious. Just remember to make plenty of stuffing and mashed potatoes because everyone always eats loads of them.

Now for the cleaning. Maid Service Rockville wants to make your life easier. Why not hire a professional cleaning company to come in beforehand and tackle the house from top to bottom? This allows you to get on with the cooking without worrying that people will tut at the state of your bathroom!

Alternatively, you could hire our services post the event. Hosting Thanksgiving is rewarding and fun, but it’s exhausting and the last thing you’ll want to do when you wave goodbye to your guests is start on that mountain of tidying up. We’ll come in and make it much easier.

Dealing with stains

Red wine stains. Why is it that white tablecloths or cream carpets act as a magnet for red wine? Or it might be that your guests have a sip too many and their hand-to-mouth coordination goes to the wall… Act quickly, though and that stain will vanish. Here’s what to do. Dab the stain with a paper towel to absrob as much of the liquid as possible. Don ‘t rub it, however, as that works the color in. Now, pour a little club soda on top and empty as much salt onto the stain as possible. Leave it for a few hours and the stain should vanish. You can also buy specialist stain removing products and it might be wise to stock up on them.

For grease marks on clothing, blot the excess with a paper towel and then cover with baby powder or cornstarch. Remove using another paper towel or spoon and then work in a small amount of dishwashing liquid and water using your thumb or a toothbrush. Then wash the garment as per the instructions on its label.

Have a great Thanksgiving!
