How to be a cleaning perfectionist

Perfect by cleaning service in Reston

Are you a cleaning perfectionist as we cleaning service in Reston types are? Whether it’s getting down on our hands and knees to scrub skirting boards, or taking the time to wipe windows until they are spotless, there is no stone we won’t overturn!

So, calling all other perfectionists. Here are some of the tricks that take you from a B to Grade A when it comes to cleaning…

Blinds

Oh, those things can be pesky to clean, can’t they? But the best cleaning tool for a blind is… wait for it… your hand! Or rather your hand covered in a sock. Mix together equal parts of distilled malt or cider vinegar and warm water in a bowl, pop an old sock over your hand and dip in the mixture. Then, you’ll be able to clean between the blinds easily. Dust begone!

Dry floors in no time – cleaning service in Reston trick

Depending on the time of year, laminate or wooden flooring can stay wet a while post mopping. If you have a big sweeper or broom, wrap an old towel over it and wipe back and forth. Voila! Another tip is to stand on the towel and push/pull it over the surface. This is great exercise for the inner and outer thighs too.

Spotless shower heads

Limescale and mold can build up easily on shower heads and we want to keep them clean. If you can soak and soften, this will make the job three hundred times easier. Fill a small plastic bag with… guess what? Our old friend vinegar of course! Pull down the shower head, put it in the bag and fasten with an elastic band. The vinegar will work its magic over a couple of hours. Take the bag off, wipe away the deposit and let the shower run with cold water for a few minutes to clear.

Brush your dog outdoors

We know – we love our pets too, but they sure are messy. If you can get into the habit of brushing your dog when she’s had one of her walks and before she enters her house, you’ll get rid of excess hair, dust and a bit of dirt. And your pet will probably enjoy it too.

Home sweet (smelling) home

Vanilla is a fabulous fragrance. It’s sweet, homely and comforting. Want to make your home smell amazing? Put a tablespoon of vanilla extra into an over-proof dish and put it in a very low oven, and bake for half-an-hour. The smell will waft throughout your house. Gorgeous!
