Getting Started

Do you service my area?

We service most of Montgomery and Howard Counties in Maryland, and Fairfax and Arlington Counties in Northern Virginia.

What is included in a standard cleaning?

Our cleaning technicians follow our All Inclusive Cleaning Checklist, found on our website, each cleaning visit. Meaning we do a deep cleaning each time and not just the 1st visit.

How much will it cost?

To see how much your house cleaning would cost, please use our convenient Booking Form whihc only takes about 20 seconds to complete.

Do you bring your own cleaning supplies, products and equipment?

We provide all house cleaning supplies to complete each service. Clean micro fiber towels are used in each home, together with our Green Certified products at no additional cost.

If you have a specific product you would like us to use in your home, we would gladly comply.

Can I request special tasks or extras?

Please give us a call the day before your scheduled service, so we can add to the job ticket and make the necessary adjustments in time needed for the additional tasks.

What if I don’t have a credit card?

Unfortunately, we would not be able to schedule any services without a valid credit card on file. The credit card on file guarantees you that day and time, which prevent subsequent customers from booking that time slot.

This would be similar to booking a hotel or car rental.

How many cleaners come to my home?

We work in teams of 2 cleaning technicians.

Would I get the same cleaning team each time?

We try our very best to keep the same team to each home, this way they are familiar with the layout of the home, and any special instructions.

What are your hours?

We work Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays, and start the first house at 8:30am and the last house at 2:00pm.

We have 2 arrival windows: between 8:00 – noon, and noon – 3:00pm.

We are closed on weekends to give our teams time to attend to personal stuff and relax from the rigors of cleaning houses all week.

What if the job needs more time?

For move in, move out, first time, and that occasional one time only cleaning, additional time may be needed to complete the service. With your approval of course, if we need additional time to clean, there may be a $25 charge for each additional 30 minutes of cleaning. This would not be applicable for regular repeat cleaning though as at that point, we would have “grown” accustomed to your home and not need additional time to clean.

What if I have pets?

We have many customers with pets, so that would not be a problem.

How long have you been in business?

We started providing service to the DC Metro region in 2006, and most of our original cleaning technicians are still with us.

How do I change my address?

We make updating contact details very easy. You can use our online contact form, or give us a call to let us know you have new details.

Please keep in mind, if your address changes, the cost of cleaning the new home may need to be adjusted.

How do I change my credit card?

To update a credit card on file, please feel free to use our convenient secure online portal located at MY ACCOUNT.

How do I book my first appointment?

You can schedule your first service using our online Booking Form, and we will follow up with you to firm up the schedule.

Pricing & Policies

Can I apply a discount code to an existing appointment?

You can apply a discount code to a future schedule by giving us a call with the code, and we would apply the discount to any service you want. You can not apply your discount code to past appointment that are already completed.

I bought a Gift Card and Budget Maids does not cover my area, what should I do?

If we do not cover your area, and have no plans to cover it in the near future, we would gladly refund you 100% of the value of that Gift Card.

Can I hire a Budget Maids cleaner and pay them for services directly?

Should you wish to hire a present or past Budget-Maids staff member for any home-related service outside of your agreement with us, our referral fee is $2,500. This fee is due within 30 days of notification from Budget-Maids. If the fee is not paid, Budget-Maids reserve the right to pursue legal means of collection.

What if I need to skip a scheduled service?

If it is necessary to cancel/skip any scheduled cleaning, please notify us 2 business days prior to your scheduled service day. That will allow us to reassign the team to another appointment and make the necessary announcements to the customers scheduled before or after your appointment. A charge of $25 would apply. We would waive this fee if service is rescheduled during the same week.

We would need to charge the full price if we came out to your home, but do not have access because no advance notice of a rescheduled was advised.

Would you take care of pet waste?

Unfortunately, removing  or cleaning pet or human waste is not part of our service.

How can I pay for service?

For your convenience, Budget-Maids gladly accepts the following forms of payment: MasterCard/Visa, Discover, AMEX, cash or check.

One-time cleanings would require a credit card payment only – sorry no checks. A $25.00 fee is applied to all returned checks, and there would be a $10 late fee for all accounts which are more than 5 days unpaid due to expired, declined credit card, etc.

Can you take my trash and dump it?

We do not remove trash from the premises.

We have seen claims of missing items, only to find them in the trash.

Trust & Safety

Can I trust my cleaning professional?

Absolutely. Most of our cleaning technicians have been with us between 5-12 years and have been background checked prior to employment.

We service very high end homes in the area, and our customers have trusted us for many years.

What happens if something goes wrong during my appointment?

Our cleaning technicians can call our office, if anything goes wrong,  and we alert you immediately.

Is my billing information kept safe and secure?

Your credit card details are encrypted on the credit card processor end, and we do not have possession of the card details anywhere in our system.

Do the cleaning professionals go through a background check?

All of our cleaning technicians have completed background checks and fingerprinted.

What is your 100% satisfaction guarantee policy?

If for any reason, you are not satisfied with the service, just give us a call within 24 hours, and we would come back out to fix those areas of concern.

We make sure you get the service you paid for.

What is your refund policy?

Unfortunately, due to the subjective nature of house cleaning, we cannot offer monetary refunds. This leaves lots of room for abuse, so we guarantee to clean your home to your satisfaction.

Can your cleaners help me with moving heavy stuff?

For safety, and reasons outlined in our liability insurance policy in effect, our Cleaning Technicianss are not allowed to lift or move heavy items or furniture (exceeding 20 pounds). They are also not allowed to extend in excess of the height of 2 steps on a step ladder.

What if there is damage?

In the event of accidental damage or missing item(s), notify us within 24 hours of your cleanning appointment so we can start the claims process. Budget Maids reserves the right to contract suitable professionals to repair damages, and will make payment arrangements directly to its contractors to settle any repairs. We take all claims very seriously, and do require a police report for any claim of theft as described in our claim document.

Do you have an office?

We do have a physical office if customers need to visit us for any reason?

Do you use bleach?

We do not provide any bleach products, but would use bleach if customer provided understanding Budget Maids accepts no risk should there be damage due to the use of bleach.

What type of customer do you specialize in?

We focus on single family residential properties in Montgomery and Howard Counties in Maryland. In Northern Virginia, our main concentration of customers are in Fairfax and Arlington Counties.

Our existing customer base include professional athletes, dual income households, and working professionals who just do not have the time to spend doing house cleaning chores.
